The mediagroup M. DuMont Schauberg (MDS) publishes the
subscription newspapers Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, Kölnische
Rundschau and the newsstand newspaper EXPRESS in the city of
cologne. In Saxony-Anhalt, MDS publishes the subscription newspaper
Mitteldeutsche Zeitung in Halle/Saale. Further MDS holds 50 percent
of the amont of shares of the Druck- und Verlagshaus Frankfurt am
Main GmbH (Frankfurter Rundschau) plus one vote.
Moreover the group participates in the Israeli Ha'aretz Group
in Tel Aviv by holding 25 percent of their stocks. Since 2009 the
Presse- und Medienhaus Berlin (including the subscription titles
Berliner Zeitung, Berliner Abendblatt and the newsstand newspaper
Berliner Kurier and Hamburger Morgenpost) belongs to MDS. The
Heinen publishing company is involved in this interest by holding a
35-percent-participation.
MDS is one of the largest newspaper publishing companies in
Germany and is involved in numerous advertising newspapers,
internet activities, radio broadcasters and TV stations.
MDS's national activities include the Bundesanzeiger Verlag,
the DuMont Literature and Art Publishing Company as well as the
DuMont Calendar Publishing Company.
