Frankfurter Rundschau

The Frankfurter Rundschau has been one of Germany's leading national dailies since it was first published on 1st August 1945. It was the first newspaper in the US-controlled zone and only the second post-war newspaper anywhere in the country. The long-standing publishing house has been instrumental in forming opinion in the Republic since that time.

The readers of the Frankfurter Rundschau particularly value the paper's pointed, left-leaning-liberal reporting and the variety of its content. That applies both to its national coverage and to the numerous regional and local products. A highly qualified team in the editorial offices, an international network of correspondents, an office in the capital city and connections that have grown over the years in every walk of life ensure a lively, informative and entertaining Frankfurter Rundschau on six days of the week.

The M. DuMont Schauberg Group acquired 50 percent of the shares and a voice in Druck- und Verlagshaus Frankfurt am Main GmbH in July 2006. Other shareholders are DDVG and the Karl-Gerold Foundation. The latter was established by Karl Gerold, who published the Frankfurter Rundschau from 1946 to 1973.
